Lorin RoweWelcome all to our new term, new financial year. AGM was held on the 18th of June 2016. Significant and prospective issues were discussed and new committee members were added to our visionary and working team. I personally thank Edna Wilson, Evanne Hull and Lulu Mitchell, all my mentors and great leaders of the pasts. Lorin RoweTFSI will always be culturally and socially involved in our community. Over the years, we have delivered and achieved outstanding performances, organised special occasions, raised money for good cause and constantly connected with the highly recognised organisations. Through this, we made history that lifted Society’s name and reputation in a wider community. We would like to thank our city New Plymouth, the NPDC and TMEC for giving us privilege to be part of this diverse and ever changing community. Also thank you to the Federation and its members for the exceptional support during Pistang Pilipino 2014. Together we all made the difference.

President’s Report – May 2016

Lorin RoweHarold Jurgens, our Editor of Pinoy Sa Bundok Taranaki Publication has respectfully announced his retirement few months ago. Harold has been loyal and very committed in making Society’s long time official circulation. Aside from making the newsletter, Harold also played a big role in making souvenir programmes of “Journey to the Manger Concert” and “Pistang Pilipino Sa NP 2014”. He has seen and dealt with different leaders of the past terms and have been very helpful in decision making during AGM. Harold is a private person and doesn’t come to Society’s function very often, but would do anything asked for the Society. Age and health issues are the reason why Harold has decided to retire. He wanted to enjoy his retirement life and yet, still willing to help with the printing of the newsletter. He thinks that there are now more younger generations and highly intellectual individuals that are capable of doing the modern digital media. On behalf of Taranaki Filipino Society Inc., I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the years of hard work and passion he has offered to the Society. All the best to the future. God bless you Harold!

Colin RoweTFSI Introducing…….. Colin Rowe is our new Editor of Pinoy Sa Bundok Taranaki. Colin is a WITT student and is currently studying Graphics Design. With his knowledge and passion in digital media, that makes him a highly qualified for creating our new look newsletter. Colin was TFSI’s Graphic Designer and Photographer during Pistang Pilipino Sa NP 2014. Even Gene Orejana, Big Boss of Western Union (Major Sponsor of Pistang Pilipino 2014), verbally congratulated and praised Colin for his amazing job. None in Pistang Pilipino history has ever done such an amazing creative effect design used as a background on stage. Well done Colin! The decision for Colin as our Editor was agreed and made by the Executive Committee. Good luck Colin! Read more
